Esteban Tomic E. : Lawyer at the Catholic University of Chile , recipient of the Tocornal and Montenegro awards. Post-graduate studies at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Lérida . Director of the Economics Affairs Division of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 1968 and 1970. Minister Counselor of the Chilean Embassy in Bonn , from 1971 until 1973. Thereafter he lived in Italy and Venezuela , representing in this last country Italian and Brazilian companies. He founded the consultancy firm C.V. Agro C.A., which was instrumental in the introduction of oil palm (elaeis guineensis) in Venezuela. Back in Chile, he founded and presided until 2000 DMC S.A., a consultancy firm. In 1999 he was appointed President of the Chilean Association of Mobile Phones Companies. He was twice elected (1992 and 1996) as a member of the City Council of Las Condes, a municipal borough in Santiago . In 2000 he was named by President Lagos Chilean Ambassador to the Organization of American States, a position that he held until 2006. Nowadays he is a member of the Law Firm Cruz y Cia. |
