March 2008 : Cooperation Agreement between the Diego Portales University , the National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade and the Centro Jurídico de Implementación del Libre Comercio.

On March 12 th , 2008, at the Piwonka Palace, the main building of University Diego Portales was signed an academic and institutional cooperation agreement between the National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade, the Diego Portales University and the Centro Jurídico de Implementación del Libre Comercio. In this opportunity, the National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade was represented by its Associate Director, Prof. David A. Gantz, who emphasizes the potential of this initiative, and let the presents know that the NLCIFT is anxious to initiate joint activities.

The Academic Vice-rector of the Diego Portales University , Mr. Cristobal Marin, thanked the presence of Prof. Gantz in Chile , and pointed out that the signing of this agreement emphasizes the effort of the Diego Portales University on further establishing international links.

Finally, Mr. Esteban Tomic Errázuriz, President and founder of the Centro Jurídico de Implementación del Libre Comercio, thanked the enthusiasm of both institutions, and urged all parties to actively and creatively participate on the development of future joint activities.

The goal of the agreement is to elaborate joint programs, that include, among others, the following activities: academic and/or research staff exchange; development of joint research projects; development of joint long-distance education programs; elaboration of joint teaching material; and extension activities such seminars, congresses, conferences and others.
