November 2007 : Signature by the Center for Strategic and International Studies ( CSIS, Washington, D.C.), the Inter-American Development Bank ( IDB, Washington, D.C.) and the Centro Jurídico ILC of a agreement to carry out a project analyzing the implementation process of the different FTAs and other Regional Trade Agreements signed by Chile in the last decade, with an emphasis on those signed with Canada, Mexico, the United States and the European Union.

The specific objectives of the project are to analyze different Chilean legal reforms, its impact on the strengthening of local public and private institutions, and identify areas for future cooperation and development. In particular, the project will analyze areas such as Environment, Labor, Intellectual Property, Customs Administration, Trade in Goods and Services, Government Procurement, and Dispute Resolution.

Finally, all the compiled and relevant information will be systematized and will be available to other countries that may have a special interest in this process, such as Peru, Colombia and other Central American countries and the Caribbean, considering their legal similarity with Chile.
