August 2007 : Meeting of Legal Committee AMCHAM Chile

Subject: Increasing extraterritorial reach of U.S. legislation and the effects in business and chilean residents.

Speaker: Eric L. Lewis, partner of Beach Robinson & Lewis PLLC, Washington D.C. Because of September 11 2001 events, the U.S criminal law has spread to cover business activities with minimal contact with the country. During the meeting the speakers identified critical areas where United States expand the jurisdiction and the strategies to minimize the risk and carry out the requests in accordance with the law.
